The Traditional Planetary Hours wheel uses the real position of the Sun at your location to divide the day and night into shifting planetary influences. To calculate accurate planetary hours, the app needs your sunrise and sunset times. Click Detect Location and allow your browser to provide your location, or manually enter your city in the form.
Both wheels are based on real astronomical data. Every location has its own sunrise, sunset, and seasonal daylight length, and the planetary hours adjust according to those conditions.
Each day is divided into 12 daylight hours (sunrise → sunset) and 12 nighttime hours (sunset → next sunrise). These hours are not fixed 60-minute blocks - they expand or contract depending on how long the Sun is above or below the horizon at your selected location.
This means:

The wheel displays the current planetary hour, its remaining duration, and the next hour in the traditional Chaldean sequence. All times are shown in the local timezone of the location you've selected, and the countdown updates in real time.
